The Olympiad is an international event that promotes the English language, challenges students around the globe to compete in English language knowledge and motivates teachers to cooperate. In IRAQ and KRI we as Stirling Schools represent the country, The Olympiad encourages the development of a shared sense of identity and integration and serves as a role model for young people living together as one community. The main goal is to create and nourish friendly relations, international understanding, and a spirit of healthy competition between young people from all around the world interested in the English language.The inaugural edition of the competition was held in 2012, attracting approximately 5,000 students from 6 countries and 44 finalists. As the number of students' participation grew over the years, in 2016 the semi-final round was introduced. In 2023, the competition reached a remarkable achievement, with 83,295 candidates from 64 countries participated in Hippo, with 223 students competing in the final round.
